The Johnston County Board of Commissioners agreed to revise the scheduled bond sale amounts for the recent 2007 bond referendum last night so the Johnston County Board of Education can build two new high schools in the same time frame. "The Board felt that it would be a cost savings to the taxpayers and would eliminate the possibility of reassigning students. We support our schools and are glad that we were able to make this happen," stated Commmission Chair Cookie Pope.

    School Tax

If NC would only accept and adopt a school tax; the state would be a better place.

Not that it is any of my business, but where do you live? Even I am aware of the lottery and I am not sure where they even sell the stuff!

My friends/family up north pay $3000 to $5000 per year for school tax and their education system is no better than NC. The school systems need to get back to the basics and teach ... more money is not the solution!

i don't have any children, but isn't it a great thing to build more schools?

in addition anyone who works in the school symsten should get an increase
    in salary.

Lottery tickets are sold at just about all gas stations and grocery stores in the area.

Thanks, but I only bought one set of scratch offs (at the Caniacs festival) and could probably go the rest of my life and never purchase one.

Thanks, although I am very allergic to them, I do like them. Everyone else was posting their cat avatar and I figured this was perfect for me in that for some I am the anti-christ. Ken posted this picture in its full sized glory in the anti-christ thread. My wife loved the picture and sent it to her friends.

Someone calls it a "stupid tax"... Dave Ramsey maybe, can't remember.
