Johnston County Schools and Carolina Pottery Honor Employee of the Month Debbie Jacobs Is District's October Employee of the Month SMITHFIELD-- Debbie Jacobs, Technology Teacher/Facilitator Selma Elementary School, has been named Johnston County Schools' Employee of the Month. According to the nominations, Jacobs is an outstanding school leader and team player. She serves as the School Improvement Team Chair and as the technology facilitator at Selma Elementary. She also coordinated efforts to help Selma Elementary prepare for the school's SACS district accreditation visit. "She does whatever is needed to see that Selma Elementary's children and teachers are successful. She is a great teacher and loves Selma Elementary's children. In a word, she's awesome," according to her principal Robin Herridge. In partnership with Carolina Pottery, Johnston County Schools salutes Jacobs for: * Demonstrating excellence on the job * Exhibiting a "teamwork" attitude * Making a significant contribution to the school, school district, employees, students and/or the community * Enthusiastically supporting the mission of Johnston County Schools Jacobs was recognized at the October Board of Education meeting. She received a balloon bouquet, a $50 gift certificate from Carolina Pottery, and an appreciation certificate from Johnston County Schools. Her photo will be displayed at her school and in the Central Services offices.
