:?:?Where is the fastest and least expensive? I was going to do "ladies day" at BJ's today, but the weather scared me enough to stay home.
I can't help you with this immediate area, I stay loyal to the Fast Lube in Garner on 50, they've always done our vehicles, and I just can't stand to leave them. I don't think they're the cheapest, and I don't think they have a "ladies day", but the same guy always does my car, we chat for a while, I believe they're honest with me about things that need to get done and when, and I just can't leave a good place! But there are tons of places around here, there's a Fast Lube right over by Food Lion, by the video store, and TAG auto might do them on Cleveland, not sure. PS - were you working Sunday?
Just don't go to a Jiffy Lube, everyone I have been to never put enough oil in the car!! Been to 2 different ones with the same result!
DMJ, I was working Sunday. Dear Lord, was it busy!!! I did 20 haircuts! Were you in? I was gonna go to one place but they said it would take 30-45 minutes. That seems long...especially with 2 little ones to occupy in a lobby with no toys.
I wasn't in but hubby came in I think pretty close to when you opened, or shortly after. He didn't remember who did his hair, and he said he didn't talk much (unusual for him) If someone said he builds houses/remodels, that was him. He did say it was busy, guess because of school starting back up. After he got home we took the boys to the museum in Raleigh, you should take your little ones sometime, they loved it! Are you going to try to get the little one in any kind of mom's morning out program, or just keeping him home?
I've found BJ's to be the cheapest and fastest if you get there early enough. There is a new manager there now and I found him to be a real smart arse last time I was there, but their work was fine....Coulda been my mood that day. Meineke on Highway 70 in Garner is very good too.
How about Don Lee's new place, across from his store on Hwy. 50? anyone been there? I am glad to see a local Valvoline place myself.....
Jiffy Lube does a great job for us. Folks, I used JL for fleet work, and I do for our personal vehicles. Always gone the extra mile to make sure we're happy. Car is clean, work is done correctly. YMMV.
TAG Auto all the way! Super nice people, great price! I think it was $16 and you get a punch card for a free one after you purchase so many. Sorry can't remember how many you have to buy, I don't have the card handy to check. AND they have a waiting room with a tv. My dd watched The Disney Channel while we waited.
TAG is by far the cheapest and the nicest people I have ever met. I don't think I have seen a place with a more thorough oil change for the price. And you get a smile too. Don Lee's is new but seems expensive. 24.95 basic oil change, most cars, which means if your car holds more than 5 qts. it's going up. Most cars do these days.
24.95 is cheap for valvoline. I wont use anything but..... I wonder what kind of oil Tag uses .....anyone know?
You could be right Kell, I dont use it, I am a Castrol chick myself. Tag uses mobil for bulk I think, but has all kinds.
I had my oil changed there last time, but I don't remember what brand they used. I'm sure they would use whatever you ask for. Most places keep different brands in stock. And $24.95 is not bad for an oil change, but I'm pretty sure TAG was cheaper, like around $20. Rock City Auto Sales on 70 between Smithfield and Clayton was advertising $14.95 oil changes. I don't know anything else about them. The folks at TAG are great; very friendly.
I give another vote for TAG! I am probably taking mine tomorrow for an inspection. I have been there at least 3 times since it opened and I have been very impressed each time with service and price!
I usually go to the Qucik LUbe right there beside Food Lion @42....they would charge me $7 extra to use the Valvoline, instead of the 'house' oil, which is Castrol. So if it's oil of your choice at that price at TAG, heck I am going there too. I still say $24.95 for Valvoline is a good deal.
We've spent far more money than I wish to talk about at TAG. Bobby, the owner, is great. He truly has gone above and beyond to make me happy. My Nanny used to say that if you can't say anything nice, you shouldn't say anything at all, so I won't comment on the other guy there.... However, I <3 Bobby, he's been wonderful, and we will continue to use him to work on our vehicles.
Well, I went. However an oil change that was supposed to be 17.99 was 27.00. Add in the labor, and the extra oil that mine took. :?
