Its that time of year again and we need to take the kiddos to the cages. We went to slugger's today and saw the auction sign in the lot (I knew that it was going to close, just didn't know it already had)... So... where are some close cages? I don't want to drive the kiddos to Cary or to Raleigh, would prefer something out this way. Anyone know of anything?
There used to be batting cages on Hwy 50 close to Stephensons Barbecue. Not sure if they are still in operation.
what town is closest to the area that you're talking about so that I can try to find a name of phone number for the place?
Stephenson's Barbecue has a Willow Spring address and a Benson phone number. The batting cages are right across the highway from there. ETA: Look what I found: Strike Zone 12055 Nc 50 Highway North, WIllow Spring, NC 27592 (919) 894-3281
Indoor Cages There are indoor cages in Smithfield right on the main street (70 Bus). Behind the bridal shop.
Sluggers is planning to reopen on Saturday, Feb. 21, I think. The rezoning sign out front is about a lease that is in the works for the building...batting cages will remain.
My mom is correct. We will reopen on Saturday, Feb. 21. The For Sale sign was supposed to be removed last week, as we are currently in the process of finalizing a lease for the building. A small church called Kingdom Builders Fellowship will be leasing the building to hold services once the rezoning request has passed the County Commissioners meeting in April. The lease, however, is going to allow for the front portion of the building (and bathrooms) to be used for token sales, and several of the church members are going to assist me with part-time help. As many of you know, my wife passed away last February and I decided to put the business up for sale to be a stay-at-home dad until my little girl goes to Kindergarten. A lease isn't a sale, but in this economy, I'll take it. On that note, if any of you has a son or daughter that might like a small part-time job (5-10 hrs per week), I might be able to use one or two more. Email me at the address below if interested. Also, if any of you stopped by last summer and fall, you noticed that several of my machines had crashed on me and I became so frustrated with fixing them that I just gave up. Mostly, though, I was just mad at the world and didn't want to do it. Well, they are now in like-new condition. I called in a pro to help me, and the pro taught me things I would never have discovered on my own, so that's not going to be a problem anymore. Thank you all for your prayers this past year and I look forward to seeing you this spring. The spring hours will be M-F, 4-9 pm, Sat, 9-6 pm, and Sun, 1-6 pm.
