It seems like a while back I saw someone looking for a good ophthalmologist but for the life of me I cannot find the thread.

It does need to be an ophthalmologist and not an optometrist. If you have any experience with one I would love a recommendation.

    Thanks!

I concur if its about a pediatric issue. Dr. Board is a good choice. If its for an adult, I'd recommend Dr. Phillip Martin at Southern Eye Associates in Raleigh. They are located on Blue Ridge across from the Rex ER. He's very thorough and performed laser surgery on a relative who had a partially detached retina. He seems very knowledgable about what he does.

    Jeffery Board is great

My daughter had Intercranial Hypertension, or Psuedotumor cerebri, it would not have been diagnosed without him, the neurologist we were sent to said it was migranes, it wasnt, Dr. Board went over the neurologists head to get a spinal tap, lo and behold, that is how we found out, she now goes to Duke for it, they are the best up there, but Dr. Board is local, big kudos to him

He has been both my daughter's and my eye doctor for almost 15 years. She had two eye surgeries before we moved here from Alabama, the first one at the age of one. Her specialist at the University of Alabama, Birmingham, suggested Dean because he knew that if she needed specialized surgery Dean would recommend her to someone like him.

For many years we were told she could not wear contacts but now they make them for her disease and we are pleased with them. She's been wearing some type of eye glass since she was a year old and keeps a spare pair in case she runs out or loses her contacts.

I, on the other hand, never wore glasses until I turned 40. I now wear tri-folds.....yep......and one could never tell my glasses are for eyes that bad.

Dean and staff are just wonderful.
