I paint the trim last because... When you are painting the walls, you want to be able to tape the trim work. It would be bad if you'd just painted the trim, and then put tape on it, and then pulled the new paint off, right?
i'm with Jennifer on this one. It just seems so much easier and quicker to knock out the walls first and save the time consuming trim till later. Also gives you a chance to fix any booboos you may have gotten on the trim
I just painted my kitchen last week. Paint the trim first, once you get back around to where you started you can start taping as the paint is dry. Then paint the walls, remove the tape. Voila. Professional paint job.
Painting Do it all the same color and you dont have to wory about it Actually painting is one of many things I do at my job and I hate doing it. I have found that it is far easier for me to do the walls frist, the trim 2nd. I dont bother to tape up anymore, I can cut a heck of a line with a paint sprayer, but unless you are doin it as much as I do, you'll need to tape up everything. Dont skimp on the tape, go to a paint store and get real painters tape, as well as other professional tools. Good luck
Re: Painting That's funny! I do the walls first and then the trim. Easier for me to cut in with the trim color. Comes down to presonal preferance. 8)
