Never been, but they (the builders and DH) are working like crazy to make everything beautiful and perfect for the judging which is tomorrow. Just talked with one of my builders and he says he probably won't be done working till midnight
There will be 2 homes in Broadmoor West that I know of and several in the Flowers Plantation area. I would be more than happy to give you a parade book if you would like. If anyone else would like a parade book just let me know, my office is at 4042. Thanks!
MamaApe...you're not the same person I was talking to at soccer practice last night are you? That would be too funny if you were! Anyway, my hubby is finishing up his 3 parades tonight, shouldn't be until midnight though! I know there are some in Flowers Plantation, Forest Oaks (off 210), and none in Chadbourne. I haven't looked at the book in too much detail, so can't think of anymore right now. The parade doesn't actually start until next weekend, the 12th or 13th. I'll be decorating his houses this Friday, and we're all getting very excited about it!!
It was a freakin nightmare today. All the builders scrambling to complete the homes. If you had a home being built in your neighborhood and it looked like a contractors convention today .... it's a parade home. I had to park a block away today to work on one home. If I had known that I would have trailered the golf cart for transportation!!!
No DMJ it was not me..but that would have been funny! It was a crazy day yesterday that is for sure! Hopefully it will pay off today for all of us! PM me if you would like a Parade Book!
I would LOVE a parade book from someone if anyone has extras, I'm planning on touring some homes this weekend (Sunday afternoon, most likely) ... I try to go every year, to pick up on some new dreams.
Wish I could go this weekend, but have my yard sale. I think after sitting out all day Sat, I am going to rest on Sunday!! Everyone might just get hotdogs on Sunday!
Hey, Elizabeth Church is having a yard sale this weekend, too! After you go and buy out FF's stuff, then head down 1010 toward Smithfield. The sale is not at the church, but about a mile past it on the left. We got lotsa stuff!:lol:
Yes...buy all my stuff! That would be great and then I won't have to sit out there for very long . LOL
It's not an individual's house, the builder decides which house of his he wants on the parade, and pays to participate to the homebuilders association. It's just really good advertising.
It's a lot of fun though, I helped with one when I used to work for the builder, helped pick out a lot of stuff inside, paint, fixtures, etc. We had a ball! Came in second in our category too! :-D
The parade of homes is for builders, not existing homes. Builders will pick out a house (or two or three) and add a few extra perks to it and put it on display. When I first moved to NC, I bought a Parade of Homes house (1997 second place winner). There were a few extras, such a gold plated (or gold coloured) faucets, 9 foot ceilings, and a couple of columns separating the dining room from the living room.
Yeah, and if I could type faster, and make sure everything is spell checked and properly puctuated, I would have posted it first.
