How kids use over-the-counter drugs to get high. He is talking to a 21 year old girl who has been addicted to Robitussin for 4 years. She drinks something like 8 ounces a day. :(

I am watching it also and the sad part is this isn't new. Kids were doing this when I in middle school 15 years ago.

Sheesh, Someone sent me an email about "dusting" and it was about adolescents that have died huffing from cans of Dust-Off brand compressed air.

I did a search on Snopes and it says it is true. Some kids will try anything!

Thank God I taught my child right! whew. Doesn't smoke, drink, goes to school, makes good grades, has lots of friends, never had any driving awards(tickets) at 17 yrs of age. Sorry, I am braggin'.

Keep your kids busy busy busy!! Then they do not have time for trouble. Be open and honest. Tell it like it is. Don't sugar coat anything. That would be my advise.

I guess it could happen to anyone though, we were just lucky! :D

There is a lot to be said for that! Congratulations. I can only pray my children stay on the right path and maybe when they are 17, I can post something simular. Brag away!!

Parents who think their children are angels, don't know their children very well.

I asked MM if she'd ever heard of dusting or huffing, and she hadn't, so I had to explain what it was. She gave me this look like, why in the world would I?

We have a pretty open relationship though (as of today, lol) and I feel pretty confident that she would tell if her friends were doing this.

I agree with this. Also, listen listen listen. I think that kids that don't feel they are heard find ways to be noticed.

Clif, I think that is called "denial"

Did you see on the news the morning about the little 3yr. old that bought his mommy a car on e-bay?

She had left the computer up and running and he was just "playing" around and clicked on a auto auction on e-bay and clicked the Buy It Now option. and purchased a $17,000 Barbie Pink convertable for his mommy.

OMG,why would you do that to the poor kid. I imagine he will be labeled a punk. Like father like son?

I guess you think it is cute. It isn't. He is well on his way for trouble if you do those things to your children. MY OPINION>

I listen to mine. He isn't perfect. He has had his share of problems, like the rest. It's all in how you handle it.

I am not in "denial" but thanks anyway.

Still, ask anyone on here . What is the first thing one thinks when they see a kid with a punk hairstyle(mohawk)? And be honest. Cute or not. Even you said it. When the other kid came up to him thinking he was cool. It gives them a different label. Troublemaking, I am afraid. I didn't make the rules.

But it is your child. Go for it.

alright, I'll bite, who held the clippers?

Don't even get me started on ebay. I have finally discovered the possibilities and it's not pretty. :)

lol, Ben, no I don't think you are. I mean the parents who always visit the principals office or other parents and their attitudes are "well, kids will be kids" type thing. The parents that seem to have no problem letting their elementary/middle school kids roam the streets late at night. That type of thing. You must be doing a great job as a parent and I hope I can say the same as they are older.

There is this kid I come across that did have a mohawk and it was pretty silly. Of course he is 8-10 years old. I don't know him personally. He takes a class with my son. His mother is a little off though. I mean let's teach UFC to these kids type attitude. Woman chill...screaming bloody murder for her son to "GET HIM GET HIM" for non-contact sparring.

And before you continue, no devil I am not saying you are off :D . I think 18months would be cute. Reminds me of when Angelina Jolie gave her baby a mohawk. Now I will be keeping my eye out for a little mohawk baby!

Ken, i bet it looks adorable. With my boys, i let them wear their hair anyway they wanted it - it was basically the one thing they were allowed control over when they were young. i went through mohawks, ragtails, etc

BTW, only a hairdresser would have a problem with how you choose to cut your own child's hair
