Hey! Does anyone know of any places in the area that will hire a 15yo? Most places start at 16, but I have an ambitious 15yo with nothing but time this summer. Thanks in advance!
Well first off is your teenager a male or female. What are his/her talents. And what time frame are they allowed to work in. EX. 5pm-11pm? This does not work for most 15 yr olds.
She's a female. She's great with kids and animals, but was looking for something in the retail field. She could work during day or evening hours. She's gone to places like Party City, Petsmart, Smithfield's Chicken and BBQ and Target. Unfortunately, they won't hire anyone under 16.
Speaking of lawnmowing, what would be the going rate for a young teen? We have some good size lots around here. Some folks might only want their front done, some front & back. I suggested to my son to ask between $20-$40 depending on the lot size. Personally, I would charge $50 for my lawn (it would be 1 acre of mowable area, with a good incline) - it is one of the largest in the neighborhood. Please tell me this is acceptable... AFTER we printed up the flyers yesterday.
40 to 50 is what people quoted me for my yard and it's a acre and that didn't include trimming for some of them. I passed it up cause I couldn't afford it..my brother just brings the lawn mower over like every other sunday and mowes it now lol. Sheri
I think you are in the right range. With gas prices, maintenance and time people will be glad to pay if the job is done right. We have kids in our neighborhood that have earned enough to buy a trailer and other items so that they have a blower and whatnot. If edging, I would charge more. I have a deal where the person comes every two weeks or if the grass is a certain height. The kid(s) make me mad if they don't keep up their end of the deal. I pay once a month and sometimes I tip if they have cut the grass when it is way hot, when they make designs, etc. Sherry
Not to high jack but ...my daughter is sixteen, sharing a car, can work all hours, has references and has applied to most every retail store and restaurant. If anyone knows of anything please let me know. I bought her a tank of gas and now it is her responsibility to pay for gas so she is growing desperate. She's afraid to drive anywhere because she only has small, neighborhood jobs right now. Nope...she does not want to lifeguard. She is a year round swimmer and lifeguarding does not sit well with her. She wants to get away from the water. Thanks for any help. Sherry
Hey, I'm one of the managers at Dominos, and we need some folks and do start hiring at 15. Just have her stop in if she's interested.
Would this be the one in Clayton? A good friend of mine's son works at that place. Will pass this onto my daughter if it is nearby. Sherry
bump Just bumping this thread We are in need of some folks down at Domino's @ 42.. so if any of you have kids that are nice (preferably lol) and need a job just send me a PM. I'm only there on the weekends, but I'd prefer to get some good kids in there now that we've kinda weeded out some of the not so great ones lol
