Thanks! SIL sent pictures of stuff thrown around the yard from all the wind but so far no real damage. You?
Glad to hear they are ok. Brothers farm was hit by tornado but just blew apart the barn and mowed the grass as he put it...mom is safe...she just moved to a retirement home..her old house has water in the basement. She lived there 50 years and never had water in the basement. Said the Emergency Spill way in Saylorville will go over today...that will drench Des Moines and below
Not sure exactly where it was - but I saw on the news this AM where this river was flash flooding - and all these beautiful river side homes were just being torn apart and floating down the river.........very sad for all those that are affected...
Oh man, I hadn't heard that about Saylorville. I hope the water supply will be ok. So sorry about your brother's barn. Was it in use? My family has been battling the water in the basements too but compared to a barn blowing apart that is minor! Dad has an enclosed utility trailer that ended up in a corn field but wasn't damaged. Strange. Bandmom, I think those pictures we've been seeing are from Wisconsin. Very sad.
I think the really bad one they were showing of the house going into the river was in Wisconsin. Jsut breaks my heart. This happened in also 1993 we were without power and water for almost 2 weeks. Our water works department in Des Moines flooded so we had no water. They were trucking it in. HAd to go to the National Guard Base and stand in line for three hours to take a quick but very COLD shower. LOLOLOl mother Nature seems to be very upset with the Midwest for some reason. Think they better start sacraficing corn to her LOLOL
