Anyone know if there is a pet store anywhere in Clayton? I have to go to Clayton on Friday so was hoping i wouldn't have to go all the way to Garner too. i need to get more parrot food, those birds sure can eat

You are SOL unless they can eat something from the grocery store. Sorry! I have to go to Knightdale or Garner to get Molly's food. PITA!

i was afraid of that, i googled and couldn't find anything. Hard to believe Clayton doesn't have any pet stores, what is wrong with them?

Beats me! Having a car parts store on every other corner and a drug store on the ones they miss is more important apparently. I think a small one could do ok in town.

    <ponders>

Is your queation OK and should you really be talking about it on a public board?

To address the questions, I have talked to a few of these folks over the years and a considerable portion actually prefer animals over the naked ape types.

Actually my wife used to run one of the cleanest smelling ones down in Georgia, but then again we took all the misfits home with us.

ohhh...........so many responses, so little time!!! :jester:

They stink because they don't clean properly. And I don't go back. There was one up at 4042 that about knocked me down. Then there is one in Garner.........Carolina something or other??? I don't know, but it reeked and I haven't been back either. I'd love to support a Mom-n-Pop type place but I can't stand take the smell of some of them. So Petsmart and Petco it is. :?

Kaci, Zoo told me they were opening a pet supply store adjacent to the vet at 319(Carolina Crossing?), I believe she said on the 1st? I don't know if they would carry bird stuff but you could try calling them.

The one in Garner has changed names, it was Carolina Pet Supply (that owner now runs a golf cart store at 40/42), the new owners have renamed it Animal House. I have heard not to use their grooming service!

Uh oh.........well, I'm happy with Doggy Do'z, so I'm safe. It's convenient to my house and commute, so will be sticking with them.

    There's a bird store near the Clayton Lowe's food/Little Caesar/CVS area.

Wild Birds Unlimited............I think Kaci is looking for food for her pet birds, I guess it's possible they would have what she needs.

That's strange. I've never owned birds but to me I thought it'd make sense for them to have umm.. bird supplies?

:lol: yeah but like their name states, they only have stuff for wild birds. Even though mine can be a little wild sometimes, they really are part of the family:)

What about Wild Birds? They're by Little Caesar's at Shotwell and 70 (across from CVS).

irishluck already suggested that in this thread, and they only have supplies for wild birds, not pet birds.
