Phoebe Snow, a bluesy singer, guitarist and songwriter who had a defining hit of the 1970s with "Poetry Man" but then largely dropped out of the spotlight to care for her disabled daughter, has died. She really had some relaxing songs.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7OxTVxGhHFM I still have lots of Vinyl, she will always be with me! This is not her Peak this was like 15 or so years after the big hit, but she still could belt them out!
I wish I could find clips that clear of her "in her day". Thanks for the post. On a side note - Why did she stay "behind the scene" so to speak. I think she really could have gone farther than she did.
Not sure what you mean, but I suspect why she got out of the spotlight was what you were getting at. I think you addressed it in your original post, the caring for her daughter. My sister is also in her 40's and cannot take care of herself, my Step-Father has basically dedicated his life to taking care of her.
You have more knowledge of here career than I. Family is more than enough, and absolutely respectable, of a reason to pull back from a career; just wondering.
