Has anyone had this and not been able to get rid of it, I've had it for almost a week and been using the eye drops, it seem to get better but then started getting worse again over the weekend..
The drops I used were a milky white thick - RX from doctor. You need to launder all washcloths and towels each time they come in contact with your face. You can't be touching your eyes much, as it is highly contageous. You can give it back to yourself if you don't change towels pillowcase etc. . .Usually, the redness goes away within 48 - 72 hours - and you keep using the drops for a few days afterward. I'd check the RX and if it is fresh (the drops aren't old- nor have they been exposed to heat or light - which would make them pretty ineffective) then maybe you don't have classic pink-eye or conjunctivitis - perhaps it's something else?
Pink Eye Are you sure it’s pink eye? Reason I ask is that for 10 years I was misdiagnosed – doctor kept telling me it was pink eye. Inflammation would last for approximately two weeks, my eye muscles would hurt, always felt like something was in it. Anyway, I met an eye specialist who actually told me to come in to his office and he would take a look at it. Come to find out that it was never pink eye, it is iritis. My iris sticks to my lens and lets too much light in. It is very painful and takes a few weeks to go away. If you’ve not gone to an eye specialist to have it checked out, you may want to think about it. I relied on my family dr. for years only to find out, he was way off the mark.
thanks, I am call my doc back today when I leave work to see if I need something different or if I just got it back again from something. I washed everything except my shades and I am wondering if that is how I got it again. Because I swear it was gone then poof it came back
if your aren't using an opthalmologist...consider going to one.....don't want to mess around with the eyes at all.....
I suggested an Opthalmologist because Opticians do not study diseases of the eye nor do they have the same degree as an Opthalmologist (Medical Doctor). You only get one chance with your eyes....I don't take chances at all. Go get it checked out girl!! Don't be hesitating.
anyone use Doctors Vision Center, Dr Salter? I have limited choices with my insurance the other is Dr Strickland and Wal-Mart vision center any opinions?
I have to weigh in on this..............Lord help me..............I used to work for an optomotrist way back when DH was in the AF in Illinois ................they are more than capable of handling a case of pink eye or allergies. They can prescribe to treat those. They will also refer you quickly to an opthamologist if needed. They have the slit lamp so they can take a good look at your eye. DH is on his way to ours today. Some kind of weird clear blister on his eye, probably allergies, but who knows. She also removed some soot embedded in his eye he got at a race a few years ago, did a wonderful job. If you have a major eye disease, an opthamologist IS the way to go in my opinion, but an optomotrist is perfectly fine for every day eye problems, in fact, they are better when it comes to prescribing lenses. Again, in my opinion, for what it's worth. Just get somebody to check it out!
ooops, my bad. Dang I am usually quicker than that....I did say 99% on the random thoughts thread. He actually has a satelite office in Smithfield, or he used to.
DH sees Dr. Bowers at the Sears Optical in Garner, the same shopping center where Kroger is. She's been great. I am pretty militant about eye stuff, because I have seen the results of some bad doctors before. DH has some pretty bad dry eyes which causes him some issues when he gets something in his eye.

That's how we ended up with her, she is on our vision plan. So I know how that goes! :mrgreen: I've got to take DS now, he's complaining of headaches at school, imagine that!
