Has anyone ever have any troubles with Pittman's in Clayton? I took it there for repair 3 months ago & still haven't got it back. Any info will be appreciated. Thanks for any info! Tee
I would go to the store and get it back and I would not leave without it, point blank. If they say "we are working on it" I would demand it back in whatever shape it is in and take the ring somewhere else. Three months is ample time for a ring to be fixed. When did they say to pick it up originally? Gotta be strong, do not take no for an answer.
Who is running Pittman's these days (since Mr. Pittman is probably about 80 years old)? Last I heard, he was running the business on a part-time basis, but maybe someone else has taken it over for him now. - ?? Such a nice man. He pierced my ears the first time. That was over 30 years ago!
Mr. Pittman is a super nice guy. You won't find anyone nicer. Just call and ask him about it. He'll shoot you straight. May have just gotten overlooked. I spent 15 yrs in the jewelry business ans it does happen. You put it on the repair bench and it gets shuffled to the back untill someone calls.
Mr Pittman is super nice, I bought a very unusual bracelet in there from him a few years ago. I've never had anything repaired there though. I did have a ruby replaced in a ring at Evan's last year on Main St Clayton before they changed hands and was very pleased.
He's very nice, but it does take a while. There's a jeweler up the road from him (Evans, I think the name is) and I had him do a repair on a family ring...very happy with that...
Pittmans Am I imagining this or did it really happen........IT seems like I remember when i was a very young little girl growing up in Clayton that Pittman's was robbed and that Mr. Pittman was shot in the head. Does anyone else remember that? It was a few years before all of the race related fights that broke out in the parking lot beside Pittmans. Back when there was nothing to do in Clayton but to cruise main street. Those kids who had liberal parents went to Benson to cruise....mine would not let me out of the Clayton city limits.
Re: Pittmans That story is true, he told me himself while I was buying that bracelet that he was shot in the head, lucky man!
Re: Pittmans Yep, I remember when it happened. I don't know how he stayed in the jewelry business after that!
