It seems that everytime the craziness starts here Zoo and her group take a beating. I have donated money to the JCAPL and I have seen what a horrible shelter Melinda Barefoot runs. I have had the great displeasure of crossing paths with her twice, I never went back. I adopted two animals, one from Johnston County and one from Wake County SPCA, I worked with Rocky Mountain rescue, and helped a local dalmation rescue. Here is my idea, and I am in for $100. Everytime we (I guess that includes the PGL and the JCAPL) gets blasted on here we all pledge 5 bucks. We can ask the Webmaster to keep it pinned to the top so we can have a running total. So say there are 6 of us in and Wavy Lines, Pat, Larry, Moe, Curly, mouths off, there is 30 bucks.
I think thats great! I'll make you guys broke!!! Where can I get a copy of their financial records! Ding Ding Ding....there is $5
LOL ... short attention span gotcha again ... that would be $5 per person for the JCAPL and for my part the shelter too. You had better start posting fast and a lot if you want to make all of us broke ...
Okay.. blonde moment happening.. $5 total, or if I put JCAPL down 50 times, David Corn Tornado is out $250?? Let me know?? Just in case, David The JCAPL sucks! Ding Ding Ding... thats another $5! Let me know Satan!
So, for those of us that CAN'T afford a donation in response to every bipolar/mental retardation response, whattaya suggest? How's this? If I can't afford a donation, I'll promise to post a Bob Barker inspired tantrum on every dog thread. "Help control the pet population, have your pet spayed or neutered." or: "I think you've had enough. No? Now you've had enough. B!tch!"

Ok- this is going to sound dumb (especially since I have worked for a local animal shelter for the past 10 years!) But is the Clayton SPCA a private organization? The Johnston County Animal shelter is gov. run... but they are the only ones I have dealt with in JoCo. So who is Clayton SPCA?
Clayton SPCA is a non profit corporation... but the town rents the land to them for free. In addition, they take their animals to the Clayton SPCA and pay them $50 per animal that animal control takes there. So-- by doing that, it is considered a public shelter. There are real no open hours of operation and we really can't find anyone who has been INTO the shelter to view animals.
