This story brought me to tears. Lets pray for this little girl and the family.. Lord knows they need all the prayers they can get. Search Continues For Missing 6 Year-Old Girl The search continued Wednesday morning for a 6-year-old girl who fell into the Upper Little River near the Cumberland County line yesterday afternoon. Rescue crews have been searching for Ca’zhia McMillian since Tuesday evening when a call came into the Harnett County Sheriff’s Office that a young girl had fallen into the river in the Flat Branch community. Ca’zhia was reportedly playing in the backyard of a friend’s house. The Upper Little River runs 50 yards behind the home. Harnett County Emergency Services Director Gary Pope said dive teams were brought in immediately and searched into the night. Sonar teams from Vance County and cadaver dogs from the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office were also brought in to assist. “It’s a huge area,” Pope said. “The river’s running so fast where it’s up, going about four or five miles an hour. That’s what we’re fighting against.” An eyewitness saw the girl fall into the river, but search teams are hoping she may have gotten caught on something or managed to climb out onto land.
I've been following it since early this morning. I pray that she has just drifted up on shore somewhere. I told someone earlier if it was my child, they'd be looking for me and her.
:grouphugrayers have already been said from my family to this one for her safe return. Please keep hope strong that she will be found safe.:grouphug:
Ok kill me now! :boxing: Eventhough I don't have kids, you can bet your bottom dollar I'm wathing them like hawks! (X daycare teacher - don't laugh) *IF* your kid or mine or my almost born nephew is playing out front, our back, on the side yard OR at a friends house, you better KNOW ~ I KNOW what is going on. She won't be found, unfortuately. It's sad because this COULD have been prevented.
