I burnt up the motor on my pool pump the other trying to "do it myself". Does anybody know where I could pick up another one cheap, ASAP? Specs - 1HP SF 1 115 volts 12 amps 3450 RPM
just checked the 4042 classified here for you, there is one, you will have to check it out, FOR SALE: Above ground pool pump/ ladder Categories: General Merchandise No Photo Ad Number: 112680 Date Posted: 04/29/2009 Contact: April McGees, NC Telephone: E-Mail: Reply to Ad Web Site: Description Above ground pool pump & ladder, was used with an intex pool. $25 Pump & ladder only, no pool. Thanks.
Thanks for looking out, I saw that and sent them a message earlier and realized it was for an intex pool. I have a hard sided above ground pool.
I have a lead on one on craigslist. I am hoping to get a new motor for the pump - that can be done, right? Never send a woman to do a man's job.
If I wasn't so busy I could replace that pump with myself and then you would even get a heated pool with all my hot air... :jester::jester:
Just bought online new and got delivered a new pump and filter for 397.00. Above ground pool is looking good now. Water just needs to get alittle warmer.
WOW! Do yourself a favor, try to find one with lower Amps and a "high/low' switch on it. Hayward makes a good one. That 12 Amp must have kept your electric meter spinning??? Here's a link to show how much you'll save on your electric bill. It's enough in the first year to pay for the better pumps 1.5 times. pool_pump_calc This may help you change the motor:guide_pool_motor_replacement
Thanks Dan, the one I am looking at on craigslist is a 10 amp and I *do* have a pretty small pool. 16 or 18 ft, I can't remember - but the 10 should be good I am told. Thanks again for the info. And yes, I send alot of $$ to Progress in the summer.
oh glad you explained that, i was gonna say if you had a 24' you definitely should have had a 1.5hp pump. That is what mine is so maybe what we talked about earlier may not work:cry:
Ours went out last year too and we need to get a new one. Ours is a Hayward 1.5 hp. That is all I know right now. I also would be interested in some places to find one relatively inexpensive.
New pumps are not cheap, if you can find a owner closing a pool, jump on the pump, and get the filter&valve too, store it in your crawl space till you need it.
