also, the one up at 4042 (by the gymnastics place) is moving back over to the Food Lion area, over by Curves, along that road...Technology Dr?

Yes, that will encourage people to use the USPS more often...make it less convenient. Brilliant.

Guess it depends on where u live, lol. For me it will be more convenient - I hate going over to the 'other side....'.
    Maybe they're getting a bigger space/ less money? I didn't ask. :)

They really think that they'll be able to help all of the people that can't make it during the week because of the shortened hours in 2 hours on a Saturday? They'll probably have the doors automatically lock at noon as well.

That is what the proprietor told me, that and that the current location is terrible, after all these years people are still telling them that they did not realize they were there.

    :iagree:

Hopefully it will draw more traffic to their site VS where they are now.

I had read somewhere a few months back that the USPS was seriously considering going to a 5 day delivery week as well.

And really... like the Clayton Post Office doesn't already have its problems. The stamp machine works half the time, and they know it and don't post a sign to warn people about it. Then you're stuck waiting in line anyways to get your money back. Not to mention, is there ever not a line of atleast 6 people in front of you in that place...either that or I just go at all the wrong times. So lets shorten the hours, probably make the lines longer, and not add any additional staff to the front... GREAT!

i think it will, it will be more visable, lots of us don't like going to the "other side" if we don't have to:lol:

heard on the news the other day, the stamp machines are gonna be a thing of the past - not worth the upkeep so they are getting rid of them everywhere.

i'd rather see them cut their retail hours back than increase postage again....

Amen. We buy stamps by the roll and had purchased a new roll about a week before they went up 2¢. Now we need a boat load of 2¢ stamps. :banghead:

Not sure the new location will do that much better, plus there's already the old place beside Food Lion. I'm sure the rent's higher - but over by WalMarts probably would've been better. :)

I remember that one. It seems like Food Lion also sold stamps at the time and I couldn't figure out why anyone would pay more for stamps when they could get them for the regular price at FL.

Food Lion still sells stamps. You just have to get them at the customer service counter rather than the registers now.

You should buy "Forever" stamps (or whatever they are called). That way the stamps are good forever, no matter how many increases they have .

They don't come on a roll, just in the books. I actually bought 10 books (equal to 2 rolls) for the church in the month or so before the rates went up.
