Our boys are going to be in a different state for a few weeks this summer, and we're considering getting one prepaid phone for them to "touch base" at home. We know the area has AT&T coverage only. (That's who has the contract for cell towers.) Anyway, we want a phone that we can put a certain amount of minutes on and that's it...no contracts, no monthly fees, etc. Any suggestions? (I did search the forums for this, and the most recent was a year ago...looking for new info)
Go on the TracFone website and put in the zipcode where they will be. TracFone rents out towers from all the companies, so it might work there. W/ TracFone, you cna just buy x number of minutes on a 90-day card, you can by a one year card, and they also ahve soem monthly value plan 9don;t know anythign about it). If you go w/ them, try to buy a phone with the Double Minutes For Life already on it. That way, any minutes you buy are automatically doubled. The phones are usually a little more expensive but not as much as buying the DMFL card.
