Renfrow, Spaulding Honored for Outstanding Work in Education SMITHFIELD-- Ross Renfrow, Principal at North Johnston High School, has been named the Johnston County Schools' Principal of the Year Colleagues gave Renfrow a standing ovation when the announcement was made at the October Principals' meeting. He humbly accepted and vowed to do his best to continue to represent the district well. Renfrow has served the district since 1988, first as a teacher, then as an Assistant Principal before being named a Principal in 2003. Bridgette Spaulding, an Assistant Principal at West Smithfield Elementary School, was named the district's Assistant Principal of the Year. Told that her principal could not attend this month's meeting, she was sent to represent her principal Todd Holmes, who quietly entered the room shortly before the announcement was made. Spaulding, who served as a Reading Resource teacher before earning her AP credentials, thanked her mentors for allowing her to learn from them. She has worked for Johnston County Schools since 1986. "We are extremely proud of our administrators. Ross and Bridgette very much deserve this honor. Many students have blossomed under their tutelage and we appreciate their dedication to student success," said Dr. Anthony Parker, Superintendent. Their tenures will begin with the 2006-2007 school year.
