Looking to buy tickets for an event here and wondering if anyone has ever gone to a show and sat in the balcony. I'm trying to decided if it would be worth the extra $20/ticket to sit in the lower "mezzanine" level and I'm ashamed to say I've never even been inside so I have no idea what the view would be like. Thanks in advance!

We've gone to each of the NC Theatre shows there this year and I honestly believe that there is not a bad seat in the entire place. I've been just as happy in orchestra seating as in the cheapest seats. The Memorial Auditorium is small enough and set up in such a way (great pitch on the rows, etc) that you just can't go wrong. I go with whatever seats are cheapest. Make sure you call and see if they're running any specials. I've been able to get discounts or upgraded seats to every show except HSM2 (go figure), and I think that is because those were cheaper to begin with.

Thanks Crysta! That is just what I wanted to know. I've asked hubby for tix to see Jersey Boys on my birthday next weekend and let's just say they aren't giving them away-even the balcony seats. Thanks for the tip on calling for specials. I'll give that a try!!

I have been to many many shows! I love being close, but there really isn't a bad seat in there, IMO. If you shop for tickets on CL....you can usually get good ones, down close for cheaper. It's just worth it to see up close to me.

Yeah the $50 tickets were great but that is the special for this weekend. We're going next weekend to the Saturday afternoon show and I ended up paying $64/ticket before tax and fees. For those tickets we are in the "front balcony" center stage section. I couldn't find any available cheaper than that and I didn't want to risk not finding tickets later since this is what we're planning to do for my bday. There were a few in the lower level available but I couldn't bring myself to pay $200 for 2 tickets:shock: With tax and fees mine came to $150 for 2. I'll just get some use out of the lasik I paid for last year!!
