As has been mentioned elsewhere on the forum, you can vote a provisional ballot for many reasons. If you believe you are eligible to vote, and the poll worker says you are not eligible for any reason, do not leave the polling place without casting a provisional ballot. The Board of Elections will then determine whether you are actually eligible, and if so, your ballot will be counted.

This includes lack of photo ID: you will have an opportunity to prove your identity to the BOE, probably with a couple of other forms of ID.
Going to the wrong polling place: Poll workers should be able to give you directions to your correct polling place; if you don't have time to get there, ask for a provisional ballot.

    VOTE!!! :D
