I wonder if there are actually more pervs now or if we just hear about it more now thanks to the media and the internet? I know our HS had it's share of student/teacher affairs and a gym teacher who made the girls uncomfortable at times.
Probably the latter, media & internet. No news is bad news.... Still. Still, we need some kind of sieve here.
Consider the little tidbits in the news story. The teacher used his computer to access pornography and a student captured the images on his mobile phone. This was reported to the news media where it spread via the internet. Now, multiple media outlets have the story and will likely feed it through the AP newswire with the guy's mugshot for all the world to see. It's the internet. Twenty years ago, none of this would have been possible with such speed and accessibility.
