The Central Johnston County wastewater transmission system experienced a sewage spill at 4300 NC Hwy. 42W on April 7, 2012, as a result of a break in a pipeline. An estimated 7,000 gallons of untreated wastewater flowed into Swift Creek. Upon discovery of the spill, the pipeline was immediately repaired. The spill has been reported to the North Carolina Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Division of Water Quality. This notice is required by NC General Statues, Article 21, Chapter 143-215C. For more information, contact the Johnston County Public Utilities Department at (919) 989-5075.
I'm lost on what fracking has to do with a sewage spill? Were they doing fracking next to the sewer line on 42?
