My son is new to Clayton Civitian football team. Right now they are practicing and getting ready for the game next month. For those who are familiar with the team system, why do they split two teams: blue and white? How do the coaches determine which player/position to use? My hubby said only 12 players needed to be on the team, but heck, there are over 90 kids. How does it work? By the way, my son is enjoying it so far.
they have 2 teams so more kids can play for the league if not then alot of kids would be turned away. there are other teams in the league that does the same thing. each kid has to have atleast 4 plays so thats how they get thier plays in. My son also plays for the civitan he is on the peewees. they had a big turn out this year and turned many away. what you see is what they allowed to play and is over the normal limit. let me add there is offence and defence to a team they have different kids that play those one usually doesnt play both although they can. so thats why such a big team I think i am making sence LOL
Thanks, I get it now. I was recently told there are two teams are based on offense/defense. I'm still learning about football, so bear with me. I also noticed there are less players now than it was during first week of practice. I'm assuming they quit or parent think it might be too hard on their child.
