We had to say good-bye to our kitty (The Baby) today. She had feline leukemia and the past few days have really been bad for her. She had a good life but way too short.Ii knew this day was coming butIi didn't know it would be so hard. At least now I know she is no longer in pain and wont have to suffer anymore. The Last Battle If it should be that I grow frail and weak And pain should keep me from my sleep, Then will you do what must be done, For this -- the last battle -- can't be won. You will be sad I understand, But don't let grief then stay your hand, For on this day, more than the rest, Your love and friendship must stand the test. We have had so many happy years, You wouldn't want me to suffer so. When the time comes, please, let me go. Take me to where to my needs they'll tend, Only, stay with me till the end And hold me firm and speak to me Until my eyes no longer see. I know in time you will agree It is a kindness you do to me. Although my tail its last has waved, From pain and suffering I have been saved. Don't grieve that it must be you Who has to decide this thing to do; We've been so close -- we two -- these years, Don't let your heart hold any tears. -- Unknown
{({({({({({( Tangy })})})})}))})})} Extra special hugs for loving her enough to let her go to the Rainbow Bridge. The poem you posted was beautiful.. made me cry in remembering my "puddy-tat" that I told you about earlier. She's already got her wings and a halo...
Tangy, so sorry for your kitty loss!! She'll always be in your heart, and her spirit will always be with you. She knew that you loved her greatly during her life with you. I'm glad she didnt have to suffer too long. *hugs*
Oh sweetie, I'm so sorry for your loss! I know the day's coming for Shelby. Only thing I can do is just give her bunches of hugs, rubs and kisses and make sure she is pain free. Love you girl!
Thanks all. its been tough, even for the dog. she was very protective of her baby, i hope she doesn't mourn long. they slept together and played together. she seems to be snapping at the other cat a lot now. but at least the baby is no longer suffering.
