Just noticed some bald spots on my guinea pig-is it always mites or lice, or could it be b/c she is ancient? I will check it out further next week but just wanted to put my mind at ease or get some suggestions.
Can you post a picture? First thing that comes to mind is Mites, or possibly ringworm. Has much changed? They can stress and over groom.... Probably a parasite and some antibiotics will take care of, but go get it looked at! RC may have some better advice!
I have temporarily switched back to aspen bedding instead of the Cellusorb or Yesterday's News that I have used for quite a while and I wondered if that was it. I may be able to post a picture later but I don't have the skills or resources at the moment! I will have it looked at.
My GP lost her hair when she got old. The vet said that it is something that cannot be helped but you can give them vitamins that might slow it. I was told that it is an old age thing.
