Looks like the State of NC wants you to mount a front plate on your vehicle as a requirement. This should help identify you more easily, as well as making a nifty target for their laser to measure your speed. Furthermore, I would suspect that the cost of registration will go up.

Before I moved here we had to have one in front and back. If they do that here, there goes my 'Canes plate in the front!:x

You can always get a Canes Vanity Plate for the car, I don't know how much they are but the wife put one on my vehicle.

No, these "Vanity Plates" are "State Plates"

    Go Canes!

Missy, do you think we properly diverted this thread?

Oh THAT kind of plate! Ok, gottcha! Duh, sorry! lol Yeah I was gonna get one of those, but then when I saw I could get the Canes whatever-you-call-it plate for the front for $4 at the DMV, I thought that would be better cause it's cheaper! LOL

    Go Canes!

*Notice: This thread has been properly diverted, thank you, have a nice day! :)

I agree with HarleyGirl...it's about the $$$...not safety, not law enforcement...the 'Almighty Dollar'...just another tax...

There's more money to be made, however with speed enforcement and quick trigger redlight cameras.

Here's a link to the Roanoke Rapids newspaper with a trooper basically describing how they used LIDAR to catch speeders.

You see, the front plates are the first target in most states that law enforcement aim at for an accurate reading. Take note how states often used white or silver plates nowadays rather than the various colors of days gone by. White or silver reflects the light. Front and rear license plates are essential to increased traffic citations and the State of NC gets to charge you more each and every year on top of that. Plus, that pretty front end of your car or truck is marred visually along with you having to drill holes into your bumper to mount the plate.
