I can vividly remember when Prince's song "1999" came out. It was 1983 and I was 15 years old. I remember being at my best friend's house one day. We were listening to 1999 on the radio and talking about what New Year's Eve 1999 would be like, and trying to imagine going into the 2000s, how it would sound saying it, etc. I remember us figuring out how old we would be at the turn of the century... <gasp> 32!!... and thinking we would be so old by then. That afternoon seems like yesterday. Yet, here it is, 2008 -- already! We're nearly a decade into this century -- already!! Where is time going? Am I the only one who feels like time is truly flying by? My oldest baby is going to be 20 years old in a couple of months. How is that possible?! Anyway, we need to tell our young ones to treasure their youth because it does pass by so fast. But at least they won't be facing any more turns of the centuries in their lifetimes. ;)

(Yes, I'm a little hormonal right now.)

I know how you feel...I thought I'd be out partying New Years Eve 1999, since I'd only be 23...instead I had a 9 day old baby at home and all I was interested in was sleeping! I didn't see the ball drop or anything! And now here we are 8 years later??? wow, time sure does fly!

I had a flying school bus! OK, truth be told, it was back in the late 70's and I was in junior high up in Raleigh...we had to go through NCSU. Our bus drivers back then were high school students and this particular driver would get the front 2 wheels over the speed bump and stop...we'd all RUN to the back and then she'd punch it so that when the back wheels went over, we'd be flyin'!!! School buses used to be so much fun!!!

(and yes, I remember thinking how FAR away 1999 seemed...no partying...we let our little ones stay up but they didn't make it until midnight, so I have pictures of them in '2000' hats, sound asleep, with the clock next to them...I didn't want them claiming later that I was a mean mom and wouldn't let them stay up!)(I'm still a fuddy-duddy...I'd rather be home with my family that night than out on the roads...)
