When you do a disc cleanup - what is the difference between deleting temporary internet files (which I always do) and deleting temporary files (which I never do)

What will I likely be deleting if I check the latter?

    Thanks

The difference is just what the words say. Temporary internet files are things like your cookies, website pictures (like the 4042.com logo you see at the top of this page), internet passwords and such. Temporary files are files that are stored on your pc when you open word documents and things like that. Whenever you open a document on your system it your pc creates a temporary "back up" of that document. it usually saves it with the extension .bak or something similar to that.

Either way both can be safely removed without deleting anything of importance to your PC.

Thanks - I figured it would be safe to delete them, but I didn't want to take any chances without being certain I wouldn't live to regret it. Appreciate your help!
