JCS Students, Staff Raise Money with Flair

SMITHFIELD-- Relief efforts in the Johnston County Schools are
continuing, and students and staff are raising monies with energy and
    optimism.

South Campus middle and high schools held a bake-sale auction which
netted $500 for the victims of Hurricane Katrina. Staff brought baked
goods, which were then auctioned off to the highest bidders. Jeff
Snead, carpentry teacher, served as the event's auctioneer.

Cleveland Middle will have a "Dunk Your Administrator" Day on Friday,
    September 16 from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Students will pay 50 cents for
each chance at dunking an administrator in a dunking booth. All money
raised will go to the Hurricane Katrina Relief fund. The school has
already raised more than $1,000 in its relief efforts.
McGee's Crossroads Elementary update: the school's collection now
    totals $3789.12.
