I telephoned Dr. Williams at Horizons and was told that he was not taking anymore Medicare patients. I am a retired State employee and stated that I also had the State Health Plan but she said again, he was not taking any more patients. Whew, hope I don't have a problem here. Just have gone under Medicare. Any other suggestions?
    Thanks!

I like Dr. Wanda Godfrey at Wake Urgent Care. I have Medicare and Tricare for Life. They're located right behind Just Tires, and the phone number is 329-5000.

There are other excellent Doctors at Horizon, does this pertain to all Doctors there or just Dr. Williams?

As stated elsewhere, Dr. Dawkins is excellent.

I also called Horizon and they do not take Medicare of Medicaid at all. My kids are covered under Medicaid until the end of the year. I will not be able to even list that as secondary insurance.

That is a load of crap. (on their part)
My son is on Medicaid and has been going there for years.

The government keeps cutting back on how much they pay for medical procedures, and more and more facilities make the determination that they cannot afford to take new patients on Medicare or Medicaid.

My wife's favorite rheumatologist stopped taking insurance all together years ago. If the insurance will cover his visit you have to pay him and seek reimbursement. He said the costs were just too high. He had to wait for payment, they fought every charge, and he had to have two full time employees to keep track of the claims/payments and changes to the programs.

My dentist doesn't accept insurance either, and never has since I've been there. It's going to happen more and more I am afraid.
