Looking for somewhere to take the family after mass on Christmas Eve. I'm trying to avoid a chain place and stay somewhere in the area (church is on business 70 near Smithfield). It would have to be open to at least 9 pm because I don't want to be rushed.
    Any ideas?

I am also interested. The Pizza Hut in Clayton closed at 6:30 PM last year on Christmas eve except for take out and deliveries.

I called around today and the only thing I found open tomorrow to a decent hour (8:30 pm) was Outback. Does anyone know the name of that Japanese Steakhouse by the movie theatre at White Oak?

We have a reservation at Maggiano's Little Italy in Durham. Our first time going but I've heard that it is an awesome restuarant. We have also gone to Michael's on Christmas eve. Although we made a reservation this year, we usually don't. Each and every year the restuarants have been almost empty on Christmas eve. Good luck, good eatin' and Merry Christmas to all!

I am sorry, all I couod do was laugh because this made me think of the scene in A Christmas Story when they went to that Chinese place because their dinner was eaten by the dogs and those waiters singing Christmas Carols. Too funny!
