Does anyone know where I can find a map online of what roads are closed today and of the parade route? I have looked on every Clayton website I can find and no luck.

That's awesome! I hate I missed the parade (although I've never been...) but my son has 2 soccer games, at 1 and 2 today, and my other one went with him and dad. I stayed home with the cranky 3 yo...I would like to meet dangerboy as well. And Marty, love me some QDR!!!

Maybe it was long because the Smithfield Christmas Parade was cancelled 2 days ago and was not being rescheduled?

I did see you driving. It took me about 45 minutes to find a place to park! My gosh, I have not seen so many cars there at the parade. When I finially found a place the parade had already started and by the time I got up to main street, the Clayton Band was playing. Then because I was in such a hurry, I ended up leaving the dang camera in the car!!!! I can't believe that Marty did not have any jacket on.

I do agree the parade was long and there were a lot of gaps at times. I had my puppy with me because I am trying to get her to be a little more socialble (sp) and not so scared of things. She was nervous at the start and then the she realized that she could get lots of attention and was wanting to get petted. There were a couple of little kids that were more interested in playing with Starr than watching the parade. Yep, if you couldn't tell, it was just me and the dog there. I had Starrs pink sweater on and her Christmas scarf. I enjoyed the parade even though I had to go by myself and feel like I walked a mile to get to main street. LOL

Clayton has one of the best parades in the area. Sorry I had to miss it this year.

Very close to Riccobene's float was the Helping Hands Mission. We left after our kids got their toothbrushes. (LOVED that rather than candy!!!)

DS & I were in the parade too w/ the SCOUTS.

A big Yahoooo to all the Scout troops that were part of the parade.

    (Boys & Girls!)
    + Parents. ;)

It felt liek we started in Smithfield & went to Garner then WALKED the entire way back...

We did get to see the super fancy big Cat loader die, get worked on & then finally drive off. DS loved that show.

I was there and didn't realize that so many of my 4042 peeps were in the parade! I saw Marty and had no idea that DB was driving him. Sorry I missed a chance to shout out to you DB.

T4T, I LOVED the mules and carraige. Absolutely beautiful.

My favorite band was of course WJHS. A close second was the Helping Hand band. I get so tickled watching them perform. I've promised myself that next year I'm gonna join their band! They don't seem to mind having big girls march with them
