Sad News For "Deadliest Catch" fans

Captain Phil Harris has passed away, he'd had a massive stroke on Jan 29th. He was a character to be sure. Only 53 years old.

 

This is so sad. Sadly, it was obvious his health was really bad for a while and I felt like this was going to be inevitable sooner rather than later. I love this show and I wonder how they will cover it. So sad for his son's and family.

 

Sad news!! I'll miss him on the show.

 

Man, that just breaks my heart. He was a great guy and I know he will be missed.

 

So sad for his family and friends. We got hooked on the show last season and really liked him!

The episode where one of the crew members on the Northwestern had his sister pass away tore me up. I cried like a baby. I think we can at least relate to what a horrible feeling it must be to be out in the middle of the ocean when something like that happens and how helpless you must feel on top of the grief.
