BAGHDAD, Iraq — Saddam Hussein will be executed no later than Saturday, said an Iraqi judge authorized to attend his hanging. The former dictator's lawyers said he had been transferred from U.S. custody, but an Iraqi official said he was still in the hands of American guards.

The physical transfer of Saddam to Iraqi authorities was believed to be one of the last steps before he was to be hanged, although the lawyers' statement did not specifically say Saddam was in Iraqi hands.

"A few minutes ago we received correspondence from the Americans saying that President Saddam Hussein is no longer under the control of U.S. forces," according to the statement faxed to The Associated Press. ....

I am kinda scared of the retaliation they may have on us. For real.

It is scary for me. I hope things go smoothly.

Doesn't matter who is executing him, if something goes wrong it will be our fault.

The iraqi people will hold us responsible. I am not argueing the matter, just a statement, I agree with killing the batserd. I know there are already threats out there saying that they will get the U.S. for Saddams death.

    Here is what I think:

    1. It will either go over smoothly and after Saddam is dead, things will calm.

    or

    2. All heck will break lose.

You have a point. I dont know, whatcha think?

If you think about it, the U S isnt all that secure. People come over here every day from other countries. I hope I am wrong.

Am I the only one that is thinking this?

They nightly news pretty much said the same thing. They (US Troups) are hoping for a pieceful outcome but are prepared for more.

Sadam has requested that the US not turn him over. I think that would be a huge mistake on our part if we did not.

I think the potential is there for a violent evening/day.

I havent watched the news yet? Well my thoughts and prayers are with the troops. They are in the first line of danger.

Did you hear about the note Saddam wrote to the people? Think we made him write that? It says the iraqi people should not be mad at the U.S..

Not really sure what to think about that statement. It's a tad suspicious.
