Hey guys, please keep your fingers crossed for my baby girl, Phoebe. We have an 11:30 appt with Dr Debbie to check out a great big knot on her side the size of a grapefruit that just popped up out of nowhere. The knot is hard as a rock and i have no idea what it is but she is listless and just laying around all day yesterday and this morning. i'm really scared though i have been told it could just be a puss build up or something, so that is what i am hoping for.

Thoughts & prayers headed your way. Hopefully it's just a fatty deposit or something like that.

I hope everything is okay!! :grouphug: I know how scary having a four legged kid sick can be! But Dr. Debbie helped us and was so great when one of mine got sick. I'll be praying for you!! :grouphug:

Will do ... let us know when you hear anything!! Willow had a large lump appear on her back once... seemed to happen within hours, they aspirated it and it turned out to be minor ... so hang in there!!

Thanks all, we won't know anything for sure until tomorrow. Dr. Debbie did rule out hernia & intestinal blockage but as for whether the tumor is benign or cancerous, her tests were inconclusive so she sent off to the lab to be sure. She is gonna call me tomorrow as soon as she knows.

Thanks everyone, just waiting on the call from the vet now. It scares me a lot that she still won't eat but at least she is still drinking water, i hate not knowing and thinking there is something i could be doing to make her better but i don't know what.

Talked to the vet and still don't know anything except that it is not an infection, not a fatty mass, not intestinal. Dr Debbie will call me tomorrow to let me know more, she was off today. Thanks for all the prayers & thoughts.

kinda of a wait and see game right now. Infection set in pretty bad so until that is cleared up can't really get any answers on anything.

ok, update. Been a few stressfull weeks but after Dr. Debbie sent us to the specialists in Cary and Phoebe had bit holes in it herself, they still could not determine what it is. She is on antibiotics and some other shot that helps her to eat which she is doing again:hurray: She seems to be getting better, energy and appetite back, she has gained back half the weight she lost and the mass is shrinking. Dr. Debbie said it is really scary when even the specialists remark "this is interesting" but to date no one seems to know what it is and as Dr. Debbie said, we may never know what it was but as long as she is getting better i am ok with that. Dr. Debbie is awesome, she has been the greatest, checking on her constantly, monitoring everything, conferring with the specialist and being completely supportive through the whole thing. She said it is driving her crazy that it is something she has never seen before but she is extremely happy Phoebe is improving weekly.
