This is about 30 miles from the town my daughter attends school...these mountain schools are very small. My daughter will graduate with a class of 48. This school is one of our schools rivals, my duaghter has been to this school for athletic events. http://news.yahoo.com/fc/us/school_violence
That was horrible. I had heard it on the news yesterday. When the reporter said it ended with a death, I was hoping the gunman was the only death, but sadly he killed that poor girl first. My heart goes out to her family and everyone affected by this man's insanity.
What is scary is this school sits off a highway that runs through the mountains. Not an interstate. It'd be like someone driving by WJHS. Difference being that because its a small community they do not have a gate to the school, a guard, etc. It is sad a 16 year old lost her life.
It's the stuff like this that scares me when I send my kid to school everyday. And you think, well should we send them to private school? But it could just as easily happen there....
Yep! I often worry about them at school and pray that my children make it through the day and back home safe and sound.
