Love, love the ice cream. Grew up with a Schwann man that was "part of the family." He had the key to the house and would re-stock the freezer and leave the bill! Ok, I just realized I'm old.

We get stuff from them all the time. There is lots of good food there. Have found a few that I don't much care for, but everyone's taste is different. In one way they are a little expensive, well some things are, but by the time I figure the gas it takes me to go to the store plus my time and energy, the convienence is worth the price for me. There are some times I don't get very much and other times I get quite a bit.

I highly recommend what they have. We love it and we have bought from Schawnns for years and years.

The talk about food, got me to thinking how hungry I am. Then I saw your screen name and for second, thought I saw 'gravy'. Now I want some rice and gravy. <sigh.>

LOL when I was a kid, we had "Dugan" or "Doogan" - can't remember how they spelled it. Dugan was a dairy company and the Dugan man delivered milk and cream in glass bottles, butter and eggs. They may have delivered more - but that's all I remember for certain. That man was part of the family and was mentioned almost every day. You would call in your order and it was delivered like clock-work. . .ahh, the good old days:)

I was just doing some random math .... looks like (and I know I only chose one tiem) Schwann's reg price is Lowe's highest.
So. If gas is an issue, why not order online and pick up when you're in the area? ... Seem's like the better deal would be Lowe's since they offer member sales and gp's...

(then again, like I always say, I know just enough to get into trouble)
What I do want to know is, are there any full servise laundry palces that are local and what they charge! I'd much rather have some one else wash, dry, iron, fold, hang, etc, whatever ... than pick out my groceries!

Been buying from them for a couple of years. As mentioned before, they are a bit more expensive.....but well worth it when you consider they deliver to your door. I've found a few things I don't care for, but overall I love their products.

I've seen a couple of truck in the area - but I don't know much about them. Do you order on-line and they bring it to you?

I've never heard of them...someone explain to me, etc.

    Oh, I got it http://www.schwans.com/default.aspx?tb=1

Like Southern Foods, who my parents used when I was growing up. That food was really good!

It seems expensive compared to me getting my HT & LF meat on sale. You can also buy a lot of these items at BJ's and Sam's a lot cheaper. I guess I'd rather spend 30 minutes cooking dinner for less than $10, versus paying $30 for the same meal just because it's convenient.

I'm a pretty good cook, so hardly ever do I find anything better than I can cook myself.

We never got anything but the ice cream and unsweetened frozen fruits that Mom would turn into the best pie I've ever eaten. I'll admit it, I'm a terrible pie snob. Guess I'm an ice cream snob, too cuz there's nothing better than Schwann's to me, price be darned!
