Does anyone suffer from seasonal allergies? my son (7) is miserable right now due to dust, pollen, etc. He seemed to be fine all summer long, but within the last several days he's had a runny nose, coughing, and gets very stuffy. He's currently on Singular and Allegra along with eye drops to prevent them from itching.

I dust and vacuum (with a hepa filter) almost daily, wash all bedding in hot water weekly, no stuffed animals in his room, and have put on the allergy covers on his pillows and bed.

The only thing that's changed is he's back in school and he plays soccer.

    Anyone else going thru this?

I am not sure what may be causing his problems, but he is not alone. I woke up last Friday so congested that I was dizzy. Yuck! I have been suffering with a sinus headache ever since, and I am sure it is sinuses because the symptoms left after my allergy meds kicked in. Since most of my problems seem related to the nasal cavity and surrounding sinus cavities, I called and got a refill on my nasal allergy medication today. Hopefully in a few days the symptoms will leave completely.

YAY! I'm not alone! Misery loves company, wanna split a box of tissue and some nyquil? I've been sneezing, and achy for three days now! And the sinuses are awful! Ya buck up and decide to suffer through it to get some sleep but ya still hafta keep a lil wad of tissue under your nose so the snot that refuses to come out can be caught when it decides to sneak out in a trickle as soon as you drift off! Take the (REAL) sudafed and look like this --> for the next few hours.

Let's see.. This is day three for me. I've had all of the above plus fever and chills. How much longer will I have this nasty parasite? :-(

    YES!!!
I did some internet research and found that you need to shower (wash your hair especially) every night before bed. You actually collect pollen, dust, etc throughout the day and bring it home with you at night. I also change my pillow cases every night too.
    That has helped ALOT!!
I dont suffer as bad as I normally do. :)

    Hope your son feels better!!

My boys both suffer and they are definitely alot more congested right now. Not quite as bad as yours, as they take a sudafed and a claritin everyday. I had to put one on the albuterol inhaler yesterday and the day before, as he was 'wheezing' a bit. You are not alone. :-D

Glad to know we're not alone...although I do not wish it on anyone else. I just thought we had really "snotty" kids. The first week of school was tough sending two of them when they really felt like staying home.

My husband has had chronic sinus infections for a while, so I know what you're all talking about. He actually just had surgery on his sinus' 2 weeks ago, and he says he feels ALOT better. It's not a simple surgery, the recovery is horrible, but well worth it if you have these problems a lot. Of course, I'm not saying do that to your kids, but if you're an adult and tired of being sick like this all the time, it is very helpful. We know a lot of people who've had it done and they all say it's the worst thing they've been through, but well worth it in the end.
