Senior Project Will Not Only Net Final Grade, but Contribution to Animal Society

    Project Has Two-Fold Purpose

FOUR OAKS-- South Johnston senior Hannah Stewart's senior project
combines her artistic abilities and her love for animals. Hannah is
painting old wooden school chairs in artistic fashion to be sold at a
silent auction. Sales will benefit the American Society for the
Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. Themes for the chairs include animal
patterns, a Vincent Van Gogh reproduction, and collegiate mascots.

Hannah's works will be sold during an art show to be held November 17
from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the South Johnston media center. The art show
is a senior project for Rachel Sitter, another SJHS senior. Rachel
states that she was inspired by attending an art show several months
ago, and decided to sponsor her own. Art work will come from staff and
students at South Johnston. The public is invited to attend.

*Senior projects are an integral part of English IV requirements in the
    Johnston County Schools.
