He only got a $3000 bond...and let's talk about the fact that he is ONLY 17 and has a 5 year old son.. Teen Dad Accused Of Assaulting Sons, Threatening Mother - A teenage father is accused of assaulting his two children then threatening his own mother with a box cutter if she reported the incident. Sheriff’s deputies arrested 17-year-old Derrick Quawee Murphy of River Run Road , Selma on two counts of assault, two counts of child abuse, one count of assault with a deadly weapon, and one count of communicating threats. Investigators allege Murphy hit his 2-year-old son in the face with a closed fist on December 3, then turned and struck his 5-year-old son in the face with an open hand. Afterwards, he allegedly threatened his mother with the box cutter. The Department of Social Services is still investigating the incident. Murphy was released from jail after posting a $3,000 bond.
That is a sad story. Not to slight the seriousness of this situation...I just can't imagine...Child parent...12 yrs old and making babies! Can you say Sweet Gerkin??
NC bond amounts are a joke compared to Georgia... this would have been a 25k min anywhere around Atlanta
