Ok, I have to admit, I'm a huge James Bond fan (including the original theatrical "Casino Royale"**). So, what do you think of the new Bond? (Too blond, too young looking) Who's your fave? (Sean Connery, or course, seconded by Roger Moore) Who was the worst? (Timothy Dalton) **I had to add "theatrical" because if I just said "original", devilock would have pointed out that there was a TV movie of "Casino Royal" long before the Woddy Allen version.
Reserving judgement on the new Bond, hope to get a chance to see it in a couple of weeks but have heard some good feedback on it. Wife prefers Sean and I Roger, worst I also agree is Timmy!
I like Sean and Roger also but the worst i think is George Lazenby. He is the one who did only one film " Her Majesty's secret service" I can't wait to see the remake of Casino Royale with the new guy. but there is something to be said to seeing Bond getting older
I am going to see the new one Sunday with my son. We are both James Bond fanatics. I will give my opinion on he new guy after I see it. Personal fav - Sean Connery. Brosnan did an excellent job, though. Classy and a perfect fit for the role. Even though I LOVE BMW's, they shold have never switched from the Aston Martin. Besides, it broke my heart to them cut a BMW Z8 in half. I cried....... Worst - Dalton, hands down. Glad he didn't last long as Bond. Fav movie - You Only Live Twice. I would have to give Goldfinger the same honorable mention. And I have to say I agree with Ken on Galore.
Bond, James Bond Timothy Dalton gets a bad rap playing Bond. I personally think he was one of the best.
Seriously. I'm a dude, so I cant tell you if he's good looking or not. Dunno why, I just like the way he played the role. Very serious and intense.
YEAH! GUYS CANT FIGURE OUT IF OTHER GUYS ARE ATTRACTIVE! THAT'D BE GAY! LAWL! Sean Connery is my favorite. You're The Man Now Dog.
I had to chose "Thunderball" because my aunt was in the movie. She played the seductive and deadly Fiona Volpe. My aunt Luciana admitted that being a Bond girl is a double edged sword. She was amazed at the level of fame, publicity and recognition she got from Thunderball, but as a result of being in such an outlandish film, she was taken less seriously as an actress by her peers.
I imagine it'd be easy to be typecast as a "Bond" girl. I do remember her from Thunderball tho. What other movies was she in?
Connery hands down the first and the yardstick to measure others by. I liked Brosnan he had the right touch of class. Lazenby was good for his one film. I cant stand Roger Moore. While Bond films are the height of suspension of disbelief, his were more camp than anything else, they bordered on comedy. "Octop&ssy" please! Had Dalton had better material he might have been OK From what I have read and seen, Daniel Craig might give old Sean a run for his money. He seems to bring Bond back to what he was meant to be...Her Majesty's Pit Bull. I can't wait to see Casino Royale.
dead on. connery is great for the "serious" bond films, moore is great for the 70's excess-era campy films (which, if taken for what they are and not taken to be the same style of film as the connery flicks, are fun to watch). lazenby was really good i thought in his film. he had a mysterious "man of few words" kind of thing going. i've only seen one or two of the dalton/brosnan pics. i was a remington steele fan and thought brosnan should have been chosen when they took dalton instead. but it's just not the same. i keep expecting stephanie zimbalist to pop around a corner...
I vote for Connery and then Brosnan. Roger Moore made a mockery of the role. Probably not his fault the scripts were just bad. His TV series the Saint was a better Bond than his stint in the Movies. Brosnan has the elegance that Ian Fleming probably would have appreciated. Connery the brute force. Craig seems to be a combination of both. Having read several of the novels, and from what I have read and heard about the new movie, the new Bond appears to be more of what Fleming had in mind a rogue constantly pushing the envelope operating in the gray area between good and bad as long as the result saved England and got him the girl (not neccessarily in that order). I would vote for the opening to Goldeneye as the best escape scene. Die Another Day was a good one as well and I welcomed back the Aston Martin. I actually saw one in the VIP parking at a Hurricanes game one night. The driver was getting in I just had to stop and wait to hear him start it up. That was a sound you just can get from a BMW.
I'm not a huge Bond fan buit I enjoy the films now and then. My fave was Roger Moore, mostly because I used to stay up in the wee hours of the morning on weekends watching Moore in The Saint, which was an awesome show. I was a fan of his before he was ever Bond. I like Connery, too. I didn't care much for the movies that Brosnan was in, but I thought he was classy enough as 007. Timothy What's-his-name-with-the-dimpled-chin was a huge mistake, and I thought so before his first film was made. My 2 cents, Snuff
She has a long film/tv credits and I think it'll take too much time for me to type all in here, but here's the link of her credits: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0658885/
