Easing the Transition is Goal SMITHFIELD-- A free, Transition Camp for all rising 6th graders at Smithfield Middle is slated for Monday, August 15 from 7:40 a.m. to 2:40 p.m. at the school. Lunch will be provided, but transportation will not, according to administrators. Letters have been sent to all 6th grade parents/guardians asking that they call the school at 934-4696 by Wednesday, August 10 to respond. No reservations will be taken after Wednesday. The day will include touring the school, a scavenger hunt, meeting faculty and administration, learning how to open lockers, learning the procedures and code of conduct, games led by YMCA staff in the gym, and lunch.
