Skyline's Cafe

Ok, I have reservations at Skylines for Mother's day. Has anyone eaten there? Is it good and worth the trip? Help?

Clayton, they have an ad on the front of 4042.com, you can click to view thier Mother's Day menu. I wish I hadn't, cause there are a couple things on there that sound SO yummy! :lol:

Ate there last week--food was excellent, wait staff very attentive. One of our desserts was chocolate creme brulee--so good. The N & O reviewed this restaurant & Goodtimes Cafe this week, and both reviews were good.

 

I read that article. If Skyline's food is as good as Goodtimes then they will not be open long.

 

What day was the reviews written? It wasn't in the What's Up section of
today's paper.

 

I think it was on Wednesday. We have only eaten at Skylines and it was tasty, cannot comment on the other one.

Found it. I don't know if I'd call the article a "review." Seemed to be more of a "Hey these two places have opened, this is what they serve."

I have eaten at Skyline, twice. First time....so, so. Second time it was definitely better. Good Times...Happy Days...whatever?....pure crap!!

 

When Greg Cox "officially" reviews Skylines they'll get 2 or 2 1/2 stars max. It's OK. Good Times is becoming a biker bar with they're so-called "jam sessions." It's not a place to actually god and get food. It's a weird set-up. Too bad, because it could be a great space.

Great choice for Mother's Day

It was worth the trip. Food is excellent. Owner Tina and her wait staff are very friendly. Food service is slow. It was packed today with reservations. Dining area is small. Kitchen staff will have to improve on length of time to get food to the table. But it is a good dining addition to Clayton.

 

They have 2 different menu's (lunch and dinner). I haven't tried dinner there yet but the lunch is great.. LOVE the French dip!!
