We just had some large flurries here in Clayton off Rock Pillar Rd. WHOO HOO. Only laster for 19 minutes.
We had them twice here near West Clayton Elementary! I couldn't believe my eyes, thought I was seeing things at first.
You should have seen my girls when they saw flurries. They were not sure what to expect since they have never seen snow before....Let it snow, Let it snow....come on
Yeah, I was at work in Selma and thought "am I losing my mind?" Called DD in Kenly & she thought I was kidding. It was pretty-especially since it wasn't sticking to ground. I saw it about 2pm & again about 4pm.
That was the coolest thing to see today. We have a kid in our class that has never seen snow before. We went and got him out of his computer class and took him outside to see it. He had the time of his life. I so wish I had rememered to take my camera out. We also have a teacher from Jamaica and her son. They went out and saw it for the first time ever. Snow is always exciting, no matter how old or young you are.
Oh boy! We might see some more on Friday :hurray: http://www.wral.com/weather/story/3994534/ Raleigh, N.C. — Temperatures might get a little higher Thursday, but don't count on it lasting – cold air will blast back in again Friday and might spawn a few snow flurries, WRAL Meteorologist Elizabeth Gardner said. Around the Triangle, temperatures started off in low 30s with wind chills in the mid 20s Thursday morning. They will rise to a high of around 55 degrees in the afternoon before sinking into the 30s overnight. "Temperatures may be about 10 degrees warmer this afternoon, but that still puts us between 5 and 10 degrees cooler than normal," Gardner said. After that "very brief, quick warm-up," a cold front will move in Friday, dropping temperatures back into the 40s, ushering in wind – and creating a small chance of flurries, Gardner said. "It'll just be a flake or two flying," similar to the brief flurries Tuesday, she said.
