Hey everyone, it is 11:48 and the snow just started to come down in HUGE flakes. Hope everyone enjoys the snow and has a safe commute to work:mrgreen:
still no word on Johnston County schools. Hopefully we can all sleep in a little later this morning. Good night all.
Yeah, ***!!! got the call at 0600. Not even sticking on the secondary roads or bridges. They waited a little late to make the call, individuals are already rolling to work thinking the kids will be on the buses headed to another day of learning.
Been out and about since 5:15 this morning. Roads are fine. Smithfield on the Selma side of Market Street, have just a few slick spots. That curve on 210 where Cleveland Road meets up with it was the spot of a truck sliding off the road. Just remember that snow is blowing off trees and powerlines and darned if it doesn't seem to happen most around curves. Still, nothing to fret about, just watch the usual tricky places if they appear to be wet, and you'll be fine.
I appreciate the call, BUT calling my house that early, waking the younger kids etc is not appreciated. I will get up and check myself.... Is there a way to 'opt out' of those calls? (Yes, I am grumpy today, sorry!)
Smithfield (Chestnut Street) at 6:45 this morning - Leaving the streets pretty much alone for the most part. Now that's my kind of snow!
I got two phone calls no sleeping in today. The phone kept waking mine up and he asked who keeps calling. I"m with you being grumpy today.
hell I had been up for over an hour at 6 am. It was the perfect snow....covered everything but the roads!! :hurray:
My daughter drove all the way to Goldsboro for class this morning and the teacher didn't even show up. :x
We had about 6 inches on the cars and five on the ground. - that's at exit 319 AT 312 - there was abou t2 to 3 inches at 70 - there was a dusting By the time I hit the 40/440 split - there was NO SNOW. What a rip off I wanted a snow day..........................boo hoo hoo
Probably because not everyone has internet or has the sense to check before heading out. I think its a good idea, although I didn't appreciate the call either as I had already gotten up to check. Funny thing was my smart little dd gets up at 5:30 usually to get ready for school, so she did and checked the tv and at that time they had not delayed schools - so she had already showered, drying hair etc when I got up and checked and saw that there was the delay. So we all go back to bed, just dozing off and then we get the call! :banghead:
i'm with ya there, i was hoping. It was kinda cool though, the closer i got to Cary the less snow till there was none and everyone in my parking lot is looking at me like i am crazy cause i have a snow covered vehicle:lol:
