I have the migraine from Hell. Had it all day yesterday, could not get rid of it! Thought it was finally gone this morning. Nope, it just went to sleep and is now up and doing it's morning workout. Will someone come over and blow my head off for me. Please. I don't have time for this... :-(
Don't laugh.. but sometimes salt helps mine... break into a bag of Lays potato chips. Caffeine is a double-edge sword.. some people it contributes to a migraine, and some people is a caffeine withdrawel that sparks them. Sometimes coffee helps and sometimes it doesn't with me. When all else fails, I take a 2 darvocet and hide in the dark for a while. Hope you feel better soon!
I agree salt sometimes will help, but when I get a really horrible migrane, I can't eat - too nauscious. When that happens and I'm at home, I darken the room...lol - I actually have black curtains in my bedroom for this very reason. . . turn off anything with any sound and get in the hottest shower I can stand. After showering, just dry off, throw on something soft and confortable and get in bed. Hope it gets better.
Poor Ready  . Tassy's salt thing helps mine. What also helps me is (using your thumbs), rub your forehead and temples. Start between your eyes and apply gentle pressure while sweeping outward towards your hairline. I do this while lounging, not laying down. Hope you feel better soon!! Frogger
forgot... I also have a neck pillow with lavender in it and the lavender scent helps too. I used to have a lavender oil in a small bottle with a roller-top from Bath & Body Works.. and when I was getting a headache I would roll a little on my temples and then massage lightly... that helped too.
A little, as long as I don't bend over, laugh, cough or sneeze. At least I can read the boards a little today... hope no one makes me laugh.
http://altmedicine.about.com/cs/headachemigraine/a/Migraine.htm There are some natural supplements that may help. I still resort to generic "Excedrin" and the lavender pillow. (the generic has the same proportion of ingredients and is way cheaper...don't get sucked into buying 'Excedrin Migraine'...same ingredients as generic or regular Excedrin, but fewer pills at a higher price...) Hope you are feeling better!!
Take my word HeadOn really works!! They have one just for Migraines and thats the only one I have used. It worked so good that I would sleep with it under my pillow and if I was woke up with a migraine I would us it.
