Sorry, can't figure out how to load a photo. It looks like a black widow but is a brownish-red. Kinda looks like a crab. Ugly little guy; my son grabbed a towel out of the bathroom closet and he was on the towel. Don't think my son was bitten, still watching him; hopefully just scared him. ****UPDATE**** Pic on page 2!!
and they are every freaking where!! My dog bit at one time and then the dog had a seizure. Lesson learned is to not bite the spider.
Or perhaps the Goliath Bird Eating Tarantula. Personally would like to have one of these at the house.
OMG...I really am getting the heebie-jeebies now with all these spider pictures! Actually, he is still alive. I put him in a jar last night in case he actually HAD bitten my son. I put the picture on my facebook page, but, so far no one can tell me what kind it is.
Post the picture here. All you need to do is right click on your FB pic, copy the properties, come back here, click on the picture icon (the one that looks like a mtn), paste the URL and you should be golden.
Possibly the Xysticus genus also known as a crab spider? From This site containing North Carolina spiders. http://dpughphoto.com/spiders.htm
