Sorry, can't figure out how to load a photo.

It looks like a black widow but is a brownish-red. Kinda looks like a crab. Ugly little guy; my son grabbed a towel out of the bathroom closet and he was on the towel. Don't think my son was bitten, still watching him; hopefully just scared him.

    ****UPDATE**** Pic on page 2!!

With the color and face you described it may be a Carolina Wolf Spider?

and they are every freaking where!! My dog bit at one time and then the dog had a seizure. Lesson learned is to not bite the spider.

I was bitten by a wolf spider as a child and had/have no adverse effects

Or perhaps the Goliath Bird Eating Tarantula.

OMG...I really am getting the heebie-jeebies now with all these spider pictures!

Actually, he is still alive. I put him in a jar last night in case he actually HAD bitten my son. I put the picture on my facebook page, but, so far no one can tell me what kind it is.

Post the picture here. All you need to do is right click on your FB pic, copy the properties, come back here, click on the picture icon (the one that looks like a mtn), paste the URL and you should be golden.

Helped out a friend with multi-rotor he wanted to build. He provided a rough pencil drawing and I did a SketchUp for him and rendered it with Indigo.

He's calling it "Sergent Spider"
