Seed catalogs arrived in the mail today. That must mean spring is almost here and it is time to plan the vegetable garden. :-D
Oh, I wish my yard had dirt good enough for a garden...I sure miss growing my own veggies! I get the catalogs and day-dream!
Definitely get some compost. Wake County landfill has some, I think it's a truck load for about $20. They put it in with a scoop so what goes in is what you get, if some falls out of the truck they won't put any more in. Also we got that black cow manure which made everything grow. I've even added it to my flower bed. This was our first year with the garden and it didn't do as well as we wanted. I'm sure the deer would say otherwise. It was still a lot of fun and the kids enjoyed seeing the vegetables grow. So we'll try it again and buy a bag of deer corn to feed our nightly visitors.
